Let’s Grow China Pink

The China Pink (Dianthus chinensis) is a fragrant and colorful flower.
China Pink can be an annual, biennial or short-lived perennial. This sweetly scented flower is native to northern China, Mongolia, Korean and southeastern Russia.

This beautiful and delicate flower blooms from early summer to early autumn and has blooms in white, pink, scarlet and crimson. Some varieties can have bicolor blooms.
China Pink is perfect for rock gardens, flower beds, borders or containers.

China Pink is easy to grow. They prefer full sun with some afternoon shade and a well-drained soil. China Pink can grow 6 to 12 inches high and the blooms are 1 to 2 inches in diameter. The seeds can be sown directly into the garden. Regular deadheading could help to promote continual flowering.
Do not forget to water them regularly. The soil could dry out quickly during the hot and dry season, so make sure that you water the flowers once or twice a week.

The good news is that I don’t have problems with insects and diseases.
China Pink grows well alongside Dusty Miller, Alyssum and Portulaca.

Enjoy the scent of China Pink!
